10 Things Reasons To Visit The South Of Thailand Before The North

Flying into Thailand, it’s likely your first stop will be Bangkok. But after you’ve explored the non-stop bustling capital, had a couple of nights down Khao San road and rode in a tuk-tuk, you’ll have a choice to make, North or south? We suggest come south. I mean, taking nothing away from the north of Thailand, some say it’s ‘real’ Thailand, but let’s be honest, when you first Google images of Thailand or look in a travel magazine or guide, the south stands out to most of us. The south is where you’ll find all them beaches you’ve wanted to visit; the island life you’ve craved all year for and well, a whole bunch of travellers just like you. Why should you go south first? Here are our reasons: The South Turns The Volume Up Bangkok is busy and hectic, but exploring all the south of Thailand, including Krabi, Phuket and the Thai islands, you’ll have a different kind of hectic. Although popular with many travellers, you’ll be able to space your travels out, go island hopping and move from place to place every few days. The energy keeps flowing in the south and especially on the islands. That buzzing vibe that Bangkok brings will evolve into a more paradise-buzzed vibe. Beach, Beach, Beach If you’ve come to Thailand for beach, then you’re in the right place coming south. With so many to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Rather than the concrete walls or big buildings being your everyday views, you’ll be seeing stunning white and golden sandy floors! With that soft sand touching your toes and the sun shining, all your worries are gone away! Oh And The Sea Too What goes next to sand? The sea! Only in the south of Thailand, the sea is gloriously blue, idyllic and ready for you to jump in. Not only are the ocean views amazing here for a Instagram shot, you can snorkel, scuba, swim and see dozens of marine life you wouldn’t see back home! Work That Tan Even for the palest of travellers, most people leave the south of Thailand with a little bit of an extra tan and colour. Whether you’re lying on the beach all day purposely wanting more colour or on a boat trip, the south makes people more beautiful! Tanned! Koh Phangan Is Here.. Probably the most famous and infamous island in Thailand, Koh Phangan is known for it’s huge beach party. Yep, you’ve probably guessed it, the Full Moon Party is held on Haad Rin beach in Koh Phangan and attract thousands of travellers every month. This is one for the bucket lists. Whilst You Can Go Diving in Koh Tao If you’ve never tried your hand at scuba diving before, when you visit the small island of Koh Tao, you’ll have definitely been provided the opportunity. Although stacked with hundreds of dive shops, the vibe here is still chill, and you can explore the environs of the ocean, underwater. If you want to get qualified, Tao provides some of the cheapest prices in the world for your Open Water licence. Krabi And Everything It Offers Everyone visits Krabi when going to the south. Why? There is so much to do! From going on pub crawls in Ao Nang, to visiting the stunning Phang Nga Bay to sizzling on Railay Beach. Krabi province has so much on offer, and if you do come this way, be sure to ‘Pop-In’ to Pak-Up Hostel! That Means Maya Bay Ever watched the movie the Beach? Most people have especially if travelling to Thailand. A once young Leonardo Di Caprio stars in the paradise-gone-wrong blockbuster. What’s best about the movie is the setting, Maya Bay. A lagoon hidden by limestone rocks, with white sand and crystal clear waters. Who wouldn’t want to visit here? And Partying In Koh Phi Phi If you liked to party in Bangkok, then Koh Phi Phi is like the mini-island version of that, especially when it comes to being non-stop. Phi Phi is a party paradise, with tons of events, boat trips, bars and drinking here. No one comes to Phi Phi for the first time to relax. Or Just Relax Before You Head North But after you’ve got it all out of your system, you’ve partied at the Full Moon party, and in Phi Phi, scuba dived in Tao, explored Krabi and whatever else, going north might just NOW be the best thing. Get back to nature, and enjoy the local side of Thailand. But for the south of Thailand, this place is for travellers, tourists and holidaymakers.
